Do it yourself, right now
- Export everything: Settings → Privacy & data → Download my data.
- Delete your reflections but keep your account: Settings → Privacy & data → Delete my data.
- Delete a single Support entry: You → Support → your Support history → delete that entry.
- Close your account entirely: Settings → Danger zone → Delete account.
- Turn off analytics or optional emails: Settings → Privacy & data and Settings → Notifications.
Access and export (portability)
The in-app export produces a machine-readable JSON file containing the personal data held in your account: your reflections and their AI results, check-ins, clarity signals and reports, coach messages, planner items (tasks, habits, projects and the older planner “goals”), people you have saved, achievements, your preferences, and your subscription status.
It also includes your Personal Goals from the Goals section as their own sections — personal_goals (title, life areas, your “why”, next step, target date and state), personal_goal_checkins (how you felt, what moved forward, next step and your check-in reflection) and goal_links (the connections between a goal and a journal entry or reflection, stored as pointers rather than copies). These are separate from the older planner goals section, so you will see both in the file.
If you have used the Support section, the file includes a support_sessions section containing what you wrote in each guided wellbeing exercise, the pathway you opened, the options you selected, your optional private note and the date it was saved.
The export deliberately excludes internal system data (such as service logs, payment provider tokens and moderation notes) and never contains anyone else's data. Payment records are held by Stripe (web) or Google Play (Android); you can request those directly from them.
Correction
You can edit your display name, email address, language, reminders and appearance in Settings. Reflections stay exactly as you wrote them — we do not rewrite your words. If something we derived about you looks wrong, delete the reflection it came from or email us.
Deletion
There are two levels, and both run server-side and report a real result:
- Delete my data removes your reflections, check-ins, AI-derived insights, signals, reports, coach history, planner items, people, achievements and onboarding answers — your Personal Goals, their goal check-ins, and any connections you made between a goal and a journal entry or reflection — and your Support entries from the Support section. Your account stays open.
- Delete account does all of the above, then removes your profile, roles, subscription record and sign-in credentials.
If any part of the deletion fails, we tell you it failed rather than claiming success, and you can email us to have it completed manually.
Objection and restriction
You can object to non-essential processing by turning off analytics and optional emails in Settings. For anything else — including objecting to a specific type of processing — email us and we will deal with it individually.
What we keep after deletion, and why
- Payment and subscription events — kept in de-identified form for accounting, tax and dispute handling.
- Unsubscribe/suppression list — kept so we never email an address again after it has opted out or complained.
- Administrative and security audit records — kept as a record of actions taken on the service.
- Aggregate product analytics — kept with the account identifier removed.
- Public contributions (such as a feature idea you posted) — the content stays, your authorship is removed.
Backups roll off on our provider's standard cycle after deletion from live systems.
Making a request by email
Email privacy@untanglely.com from the address on your account and tell us which request you are making. If we cannot confirm the request comes from the account holder, we may ask you to verify it before we act — this protects your reflections from someone else requesting them.
How we respond
We aim to acknowledge requests within a few days and to complete them within one month. If a request is complex we will tell you and explain the delay. See also the Privacy Policy and Cookie & Local Storage Policy.
