Overview
Untangle is operated by AE TECHNOLOGIES GROUP LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17419062, with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Your contract for paid Untangle features is with that company.
Your subscription is billed by the platform where you bought it — either Stripe (website) or Google Play Billing (Android app). Cancellations and refunds are handled by that same platform, in line with its rules and applicable consumer law.
Cancelling on Android (Google Play)
- Android subscriptions must be managed through your Google Play account.
- Cancel via: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Untangle.
- Deleting the app or your Untangle account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription.
- Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period.
- You keep access until that period ends, unless Google issues a refund or terminates access earlier.
- The amount shown by Google Play is charged to your Google Play account, and renewals continue in accordance with Google Play's subscription terms until you cancel.
- If you are on a 7-day free trial: unless cancelled before the end of the 7-day free trial, the subscription will automatically convert to the selected paid plan and the applicable recurring subscription price will be charged through Google Play. Cancelling during the trial prevents that charge, and you keep Premium until the trial period ends. Trials are offered by Google Play to eligible users only.
Cancelling on the web (Stripe)
- Cancel through the Billing page in your Untangle account or the Stripe customer portal linked from it.
- Cancellation stops future renewal charges.
- You retain access until the end of the current paid billing period unless otherwise stated.
Refunds — Google Play purchases
- Google Play purchases and refund requests are subject to Google Play's refund rules and applicable consumer law.
- Refund decisions for Google Play purchases are made by Google — Untangle does not control Google Play's refund decisions.
- You can request a refund via the Google Play Store order history or Google Play support.
- Where a refund is granted, access to paid features may be removed or adjusted.
- You may also have refund or cancellation rights under the consumer law of your own country (for example in India, the UK or the EU), in addition to Google Play's own refund rules. Nothing here limits those rights.
Refunds — Stripe / website purchases
- Website purchases processed through Stripe are subject to this policy and applicable consumer law.
- Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We cannot guarantee that every request will be approved, except where a refund is required by applicable law or by the platform through which you purchased.
- Where a refund is granted, access to paid features may be removed or adjusted.
What happens to access after a refund
There is a deliberate difference between cancelling and being refunded:
- If you cancel, future renewals stop and you keep paid access until the end of the period you have already paid for. When it ends, your account returns to the free tier.
- If a purchase is refunded or reversed (including a Google Play refund, a Stripe refund or a card chargeback), paid access is withdrawn as soon as we are notified, rather than at the end of the billing period, because the payment for that period no longer stands.
- Either way, nothing you have written is deleted. Your entries, reflections and goals remain in your account; features that are Premium-only simply become read-only or limited again, in line with the free-tier allowances shown in the app.
Your statutory consumer rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory consumer rights, including rights available to consumers in the United Kingdom under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or equivalent local law.
For digital content and digital services bought online in the UK and EU there is normally a 14-day right to change your mind. Because Untangle gives you immediate access to the paid features as soon as the purchase completes, that right can be lost once you start using them where you have agreed to immediate supply — but we will always honour a withdrawal or refund where the law requires it, and Google Play applies its own refund rules to Android purchases. If you are unsure, email us and we will look at your case properly.
How to request a refund
- Google Play purchases: use your Google Play order history or Google Play support.
- Stripe / website purchases: email support@untanglely.com with your account email and the approximate purchase date.
